Enabled by the change in workplace location, this project was an opportunity to spark cultural transformation within a small business serving the retail industry through physical environments. The goal was to radiate a sense of change and growth—internally across all levels of staff and externally to clients. The workplace itself became a storytelling device, connecting Brandspec’s services to its clients under one roof.
The spatial strategy aimed to express the company’s purpose within a new ‘big box’ environment. We identified key areas to embed ‘magical branding moments,’ showcasing the company’s values through materials and product displays. These moments shaped the identity of the Brandspec workplace. Working within a modest budget, the design concept—Exposed Compositions—reflected client partnerships and the brand spirit through unexpected combinations of shape, colour, and texture. The sensory experience extended beyond the visual, with each room offering a unique interaction. The interior continued the building’s contemporary architectural language, drawing inspiration from the tangible outcomes of Brandspec’s brand activation services.

Colour played a key role, especially in the monochromatic meeting rooms where paint, furniture, and flooring were carefully coordinated. Sustainable materials—such as recycled rubber, cork, and cardboard—were used throughout, notably on stairs, flooring, and furniture. Reflecting the company’s strong printing background, graphic design techniques were integrated into wall tiles, floor patterns, and screens.
The project began with a graphic design exercise and evolved into a physical space that fully embodied Brandspec’s brand strategy. Culturally, it fostered a more horizontal organization, with shared spaces promoting collaboration. The central hospitality and arrival area became a heart of the workplace, encouraging interaction between staff and clients alike. As a result, the space not only enhances client engagement but has also attracted higher-calibre talent to the business.
